tranny knocks when shift into drive
Hey all. Newbie here and just purchased '82 coupe with 65K original, one west coast owner miles. Car is in excellent condition overall but I notice that when i shift into drive, the rear knocks or "hits" hard and the rear end sits down. what could be the problem?

Sounds like the front differential mount. You can check it by having some sit in your car and shift it into and out of drive while you get down beside it and look at the front of the diff, you can see it jerk up and down. Easy fix but replace with poly ones.
