Default Thinking about a scissors lift...

I have a kwiklift now. can anyone see an advantage that the scissors life has over the kwiklift?

Ill be keeping both, but thinking the scissors lift would compliment the kwiklift....

Comments?

dont have ceiling height for full blown lift or it would be installed tomorrow

how about a four post lift?I'm not sure a scissor lift would give you as much working room under the car.

Default I want one!!!

Interesting use of the scissor lift in tandem with the kwiklift!!!

I'm in the process of looking at scissor lifts as well. Just as with 2-post and 4-post lifts they seem to be available from a number of vendors. I've done a little research and have come up with the following "short list":

Norco 86002. I've seen other Forum posts about this particular lift and have also seen it mentioned at other sites. Here is a little more info from one of the places that offer it:
http://www.mile-x.com/Lift%20Equipment/86002.htm

Eagle PMR-6000-48.
http://eagleequip.com/page/EE/PROD/LI-LM/602-002

Bend-Pak MD-6XP. Another lift mentioned in Forum posts.
http://www.bendpak.com/product_info.isg?products_id=759

If anybody owns or has experience with any of these or any others I'd welcome the feedback.

Nussbaum Scissor Lift, leaves the floor open for other stuff yet lifts car to 70".

Thats my yellow 75 in the picture, this setup is great you can move any one of these lifts around. Like Ross said i have a 7ft. ceiling. You will not be sorry if you go with this type set up. I use this set up for doing alignments. If you get a midrise get one that goes stright up and down and works on 110 volts.

Cool set up, but I don't really see the need for the kwik-lift here?
It seems to be it would just be in the way.

I have a Bend-Pak MD-6XP as well.

Great quality, can be moved around the garage easily and offers plenty of under car access for most jobs (including exhaust).

My full review on the Bend-Pak here:

I've heard good things about the Norco as well.

Yeah, I know it's not a C3

This is what I am looking for. Anyone know who makes one like this, that is open in the middle like this one (which is from Germany and is 5600.00) little too pricey. Anything in US that is close to this one.

BendPak and Mohawk had them, when I was researching these I contacted both companies. Seems both had discontinued because of price. The ones that they stuck with both lifted almost as high, aren't as "clean" when it comes to floor space though. That BendPak above is pretty close though, side work money came in at the right time for me to purchase mine.

I would hate to even think about what would happen if one side loses hydraulic pressure
while lifting before safety latches engauge. Too risky for me.

Bend-Pak SP-7X

Under $4K, needs to be bolted to the floor, but has complete underbody clearance and raises to 72".

There are two cylinders per side, main and slave, the way they're "plumbed" no chance of that. Both sides come down together. Only way any thing would happen is if a hose from pump stand to lift would get split. Local guy I talk to has had this in his shop for over 5 years, they use it daily, the way his floor is setup he has had a hose get rubbed but nothing drastic ever happened. Plenty safe, not worried at all. Have had my '04 Avalanche and '97 Pont GP-GT on it, only drawback is the Vette don't run so pushing on and off to work on these is a drag. Someday...
