Air compressor electrical?

Air compressor electrical?
Just move into an older home and I want to hook my compressor up temporarily to do some carpenter work. My compressor calls for 240/20amp can I piggy back off my 240/30amp dryer outlet until I get my garage organized? Garage is full of furniture and my vette is buried.

forgot to mention:
I bought the plug at HomeDepot, needed the expensive 3-prong style... the plug was about $15
.... well, I guess I'll survive the expense but I don't think I got a lot for the money 
That way you have to unplug the dryer to plug the compressor in... that way the wife cannot accidently start the dryer while the compressor runs....

That's the way I hooked up my welder. The plug is expensive. May not be the best way to do it, but it works.
