Same here... 76 has the name as one unit (corvette) and I think the 75 is spaced out ( c o r v e t t e. ) What does your steering wheel look like? I have a 75 VIN and lots of parts stamped late in 75 but lots of clues that its actually a 76

The 74 bumper is divided in the middle - - the 75 is one piece with the letters C-O-R-V-E-T-T-E spread out between the tail lights.

The 76 and 77 were of a similar smaller design Corvette centered on the tail. It's been a few years since I had those years, but I'm 95% certain . . .

Regards-

The way I understand it is that the EARLY 76's had the spaced out emblem design..later 76's were one piece

Default Rear Bumpers?

Cort is correct.

The '76 rear bumper has a smaller one piece "Corvette" emblem that fits into an recessed indented space in the center of the rear bumper.

The '75 has the single "C O R V E T T E" letters that also fit into an recessed indented space centered on the rear bumper.

If you have a very late '75 VIN number and late build date on your '75 it is possible that you could have gotten an '76 bumper, but I have never seen one on a '75.

I purchased a new '76 in early December 1975 and it had the correct '76 bumper with the one piece emblem.
