How far off can a date code on a light bulb be and still be considered "numbers matching"?

What is the proper way to break a new bulb in?
How can I modify my bulb so it lights up faster than anyone else's bulb?
Anyone have a diagram of some bulbs....looking to do a body off bulb restore soon?

You need a drop base socket for the 1157.

Hi guys-

I went to rotate the tires and while i was at it decided to do a body-off anyhow. one of the front bulbs is 1157 NA while the other is just 1157. I am the 2nd owner and the 1st (whom I'm still in contact with) swears the bulbs were never changed or in an accident. Is this a factory deviation? anyone else have this?

steve

ps. you all crack me up
