Need help with 72 engine code

Need help with 72 engine code

Hey guys, I am looking into a 1972 LS5. The owner states that it has a 1972 chevy 454 in it but doesn't know where it came from. The engine numbers are as follows: TO531TRW C4B172215. These numbers don't look like they are from a vette motor, and I can't seem to locate any info on where they might be from. Any help would be appreciated, a link to a site with chevy engine codes would be great. Thanks again Jim

Thanks Little Jake, just what I needed to know. Sellers don't seem too knowledgable about thier car. They are going on what the person who sold them the car 7 years ago. Thanks again, Jim

Thanks for the offer Bro, the car is in Virginia so I am trying to get as much info so I don't waste a trip. If I need ya in the future I keep you in mind thanks Jim.

I am new to the vette scene but I'm hooked. I made it to Bald Hill one time this year, nice cars, cool people. I wanted to do the other cruise ins but never seem to have the time.
