I just received in the mail today a set of bilstein heavy duty shocks for my 78 vette. I was wondering the fronts came with the blue boots that covers the rods but the rears have no boot? Is this correct or am I missing the boots for the rear shocks?
Thanks rihwoods! My Bad I just looked at them really quick and didn't actually notice that the rear shocks are in the boxes that are marked front and vise versa. I was trying to recall and find a thread I read that a boot won't fit in the front due to being inside the spring and not having enough room but of course I cannot find that thread when I want it. I was just wanting to make sure that one set was not suppose to have the blue dust cover boots on them. Thanks for your input!

I bought mine about 20+ years ago and I just sent them to the factory to get new bushings and rubber skirts. Mine had skirts on the rear, but not the front.
I was thinking of painting mine red and adding the bilstein stickers. Is that against the good book?

not at all, i cut the boot off & painted em in the rear, it just didn't go w/my paint scheme. got KYB's up front & painted em to match the rears.

Nah not to me it isn't. I am a firm believer that it's your car and you can do whatever you like to it! Personally I don't care what color my shocks are as I also don't have a show finish on my underneath like some guys do here. I bought a 78 to build the way I want and not worry about hurting collectability or correctness. Now if I had and or could afford a high dollar collectable vette I might feel different. Until then I'll just keep dreamin about a 69 w/427 in it!!!

Your welcome...you have purchased a very good shock....bulletproof, I might add...I used to run them in the desert off-roading in a baja bug...never a problem...
