My '69 GTO. Turned into my kitchen when we built our house in 1989.
My '68 GTO turned into my first house (down payment anyway). Sold it in 1975 for $1100. 60k miles, auto, w/'65 tri power.
Sold this GTO in 1980 for $1300 to buy a wedding ring....standard cookie cutter GTO, all original, never kid owned.
Sold this El Camino in 1981 for $1300 to pay for the wedding reception(part of it)......LT-1 (from a Vette), M-22, buckets, console, SS dash, SS hood in the garage, Trans Am & GTO sway bars, NOS chambered exhaust. Never quite finished.
Kept the Firebird though.......later sold it in 1998 for $7500. 45k miles, 400, auto, air, loaded.

I admire all you guys who have managed to part with beloved cars for an easier life with your loved ones,,,its worth it, hard cooking on an aircleaner and watching t.v. snuggled with yer honey on bucket seats. Trouble was that none of my ex's wanted me to sell any of my wheels, they just couldnt see me spending free time with them instead of "THEM", which I did but obviously not enuf,,,Peace,,,Moosie

moosie, that B&W of the Road Runner is priceless. Definately a happy kid there.
Just after I sold the orange Firebird, my grandmother passed and I inherited 2 gems. A '65 Skylark coupe and a '42 Pontiac. I restored the Pontiac but sold it before it was completed. A fellow I was buying parts from wanted it.
damn.
i was just a KID when most of these shots were taken.
i loved old cars then, and i still love 'em today.
at least they were real back then, with personality. not the crap they put out today.
moosie-that dog is part wolf, isn't it?
Nope, thats "Blitz" an Alaskan Malmute, a larger version of a Siberian husky, he had the personality of a wolf sometimes, I took that picture because it was of a malamute guarding a malibu, corny, yeah I know,,,sorry. Peace,,,Moosie

Al, that old pontiac woulda made an awsome cruiser, but money talks sometimes. Peace,,,Moosie
Here is me in 67 with my uncles 66 427/425 HP. This was my first Vette ride. I can still smell the burning rubber.
My dads 66 Impala SS is behind it. One of the few verts that had AC

Yep, another family sacrifice. My daughter was about 5, why would a sane car nut sell a toy to pay for 4 years of college 13 years in advance? Sure am glad NOW, that I listened to my wife THEN. Otherwise I'd be on the Yugo forum.

Yes, they had cars back then!
Here are a few.
First two are of my very first car, a '53 Plymouth (remeber them?) Cranbrook (I think). Flat 6 cyl & fluid clutch 3 speed. That's an honest to god Earl Shieb 2 tone paint job. Cost $39.95 back in 1960 when photos were taken. ack:
The second set is of my second car, "The Ghost Rider". A '56 Plymouth Savoy. Customized with porthole antenna, custom interior with my first custom center console. I was heading off to the Navy, Nov. '63, when this was taken. I was 17 and bullet proof! Glenn
My first car was a 51 Ford...no hood..Oly beer can for velocity stack.."booze injected" painted on both sides..real hit with the sheriff's...my second(below) was this 49 Olds Coupe...mods were 56 Rocket 88 engine..B&M hydro, big rear tires and Woodpecker stickers in rear windows ...that's my brother in pic taken 1961..
