Default interior pics, stock custom.....

I have an 81 corvette and im goin to redo the whole interior, and i just wanted to see what some of you guys have done. I was thinking of going with something a little differeant than a stock color schem. I was thinking of getting the seats reupholstered, with a 2 tone design, and matching the rest of the interior with that. If any one knows of a place that I could go to, or have some pics of some nice interior jobs post em. thanks

local upholstry shops are good because they'll do exactly what you want, or try mamotorworks.com find the 2 tone seat covers you can custom order, and die your interior as wanted.

Mines almost stock, but here's how the factory two toned the older interiors ... might be worth a few ideas.

Not stock. I will be getting a set of Mid America seat covers to match the interior after the New Year. The door panels I did myself. There was alot of trial and error fitting on the door panels, before I was able to come up with the finished product.

It is a work in progress.

Default Custom Interior

I am doing exactly the same thing. I would suggest that if you really want something different to look at some of the custom Hot rod sites. That's where I got the ideas for mine. I called and emailed some of the companies that carry fabrics and asked for samples. It took a while but I eventually found my scheme. I am going with ostrich skin as my accent material and "ultra leather" as my main fabric. I then went, as someone else suggested, to a local upholster for the labor. If you find someone you can trust and that is willing to work with you can do what ever you want. The shop I found ordered the dye for me so I can do all the other interior pieces inside. The internet is a powerful tool at your disposal to find new ideas or to improve on something that you like. I am tinkering with the idea of making a custom fiberglass console.

My '77 interior is almost stock black, but when i had the seats recoverd in leather i had some silver 'arctic' piping installed, aswell as white stitching.Just brakes it up nicely.(click on my avitar to see pic)

Had a centre console cushion made up with the same piping & stitching, but had it made a bit longer so i could actually rest my elbow on it whilst holding the steering wheel. Its shaped at the bottom to follow the contour of the parking brake surround.

Both have the '77 nose emblem emroided onto them.
Had it done here in the UK by Smart Boy interiors.

I love the seat covers and stitching. Did you send the whole seat and have it fitted, or do they send you a ready made cover with factory dimensions and allow you to do custom choices? I like yours and wondering if I could order from them, which is why I am asking.

I'll post some more pics when i find out how.
I had them fit the seat covers with new foam. What they do is take one of your original covers apart and make the new ones up from that.
You can choose what colour leather and piping you want, and if you give him a pic of an emblem or whatever he can set an embroidery up for you.
Please understand though that these are the best fitting seat covers ive seen- no creases/ripples etc you get with the cataloge ones( dont fit like a stocking on a chickens leg).
This guy always recommend using new foam aswell.

They do alot of custom work for these rich guys who buy a brand new Jag/beemer etc. and want a custom interior as soon as the get it out the showroom. They are good at what they do.

You'd probably have to send him one of your covers to use as a template, then get him to send the new covers to you, then have them fitted onto your seats in the US, would work out expensive sending your seats to the UK complete.

Dollar is weak against the pound at the minute so thats another expence to consider. postage wound't be to expensive though.

No, pillars are Firethorn. Only my seats and doors are white.

They are from Sparco. They came with bolts and a diagram showing the preferred spacing. I used it to custom set the pedals for easier shifting and heal/toe down shifts ....still working on getting that down though. Here's a better shot of the pedals. They are aluminum with little rubber buttons for better grip.
