AIM shows how the OEM emblems were installed. Required heating the emblem and the panel. I am assuming replacement emblems use emblem tape.

the replacement emblems for my 78 pace car all came with 3m double sided tape already mounted on the back. the gas lid unit is bolted to the lid, but the others all had alignment pins, but used tape to hold them on not speed nuts.

i have yet to pull off the nose emblem (which is original and in need of replacement, because i can't figure out a decent way to do it. there are not speed nuts on the emblem, but the tape is almost 30 years old, and i can't figure out a decent way to get it off without damaging the nose section itself. i am thinking that my best option may be to heat it with a blow dryer and then try to work dental floss throught the backing tape. i am open to whatever suggestions anyone might have.

I usualy use fishing line and work it backward and forward till I cut through the glue.
