New guy with heater question (pic)
Been reading forum for a while, but haven't posted. Have a heater related question. Had my heater core replaced, and left most of the ducting off as I'm going to insulate the interior. (shut off valves in hose lines, and insulated exhaust also). This leaves a large approx 5" square duct facing into the compartment. While moving, there is hot air coming in thru this duct, presumably from the engine. OK, now the stupid question. Where is the intake for this and can it be shut off?
1. a cable that physically opens a flapper to mix ac condenser/heater coil air to regulate temperature
2. vacuum controled heater hose switch to allow or block hot water flow thorugh the heater core
Another possibility is air flow through the firewall if the heater core hose plumbing was not sealed.
Appreciate the info!
