mysterious red button
I just bought my first corvette, a 75 and found a red button in the windshield wiper compartment. Maybe this is a stupid question, I don't know, but what does it do?

I think it's the self destruct button -- push it and see
That should be the seatbelt non-start override button. Another better idea from your friends in the government.

In my vette the red button engages the flux capacitor.

Dean, he's got a '75, I didn't think the flux capacitor's came out until 1985?
Okay...not that we've been much help to this point but if you could post a pictue it might help us ID it.

If it's on the passenger side, it might be a start button. Beware. I pushed mine and thought the car was going to launch.

Our 16 year old had an orange button on the lower dash of his BMW 528i that didn't do anything. He rigged it to turn on the neon under his car. I advise against this, even if you are 16. (He got a GTI for Christmas, no neon).

Resets the theft alarm, if memory serves. Get an owners manual and it should tell you.
