I'm looking at a '68 coupe that is in great condition. One question that I have is about the steering column.
Is this the way it's supposed to look? Not entirely contiguous, but in sections? I have looked for photos of other '68's and I did find one on Ebay that looked to be in a similar condition so it's probably OK. I'm pretty certain that it hasn't been replaced.
If you want you can send a picture directly to me. I can respond here or directly to you. I know a little bit about 1968 columns.

Hi, thanks guys. Yep, That's just the way it looks. It almost looks like it should DO something (like telescope) Not looking at one one before, it does look odd.
Vettestudent,
My 68 has a telescope column and you can tell if your's does by looking to see if you have a locking ring bezel directly behind your horn button.

Cool. thanks.
How does it work? do you loosen the ring, push in or out, then relock it?
