It's a legend in it's own mind.......longstory.......
Regardless how you feel about Merlin, himself, that car is an awesome piece of machinery. There isn't one of us on this board that wouldn't die for it...........................
It seems Merlin will never go away. It a very catchy car and a one of a kind. Some like it and some are jealous. I wouldn't die for it, but its welcome in my garage anytime.
I'm new here (one month), so I don't know the story but this car was at the Barrett Jackson last year, I'm sorry I can't remember how much it sold for but I do remember telling my FIL that whoever built this car just lost their A$$, unless they bought it back themselves (which a lot of sellers were doing, because Craig Jackson won't let any cars have a reserve as of last year).
I'll see if I can look it up, I'll post it if I find it...
OK, I found it. It was at the '05 BJ auction (2yrs ago), said to have $260K invested, sold for $73,440.
Like I said, I'm new here so I don't know about the owner, but the car looked to be very nice. It brought a lot of mixed reviews from people looking at when it was down in the infield. They either loved it or hated it.
Just curious TT. How much do you have invested in your baby so far? I checked out some of your pics, beautiful work, but it looks costly.
I have no idea, I don't keep records...I don't want to know either but it's a lot less than some of the people here have put into their cars, I do eveyrthing myself so that aprt is cheap, it justs costs me money for the parts and whatever is needed for the build.
