Whats that one in front? 69 Riverside Gold or War Bonnet
That is a 1970 MPC 1/20 scale plastic kit that I built in 1970 and sprayed with acrylic lacquer left over from a real car. It's a color very close to War Bonnet. I built it as my dream car at the time, and still is.

That's cool! I have that model, new in an unopened box!
Someone told me if you sprayed the models with lacquer paints the plastic would melt. Nice collection! WB

Thanks, Yes the plastic will craze, but lacquer top coats won't attack plastic if you use primer first. For some reason primer doesn't attack plastic. You can use acrylic lacquer primer with fast dry thinner or a high quality lacquer aerosol automotive primer. Spray light coats of primer and let the body dry for a week before sanding and applying the top coats. Experiment on another model first to get the technique. Some aerosol primers will attack plastic. Wet sand and polish just like a real car except without the buffer. .
These are all 1/25th scale painted with acrylic lacquer and polished.
Flip flop red pearl over white with candy blue stripes.
Two colors faded into each other with the stripe faded opposite
About 20 coats of black
Go ahead, you deserve it! Last Christmas my wife gave me the Franklin Mint '75 and a Flint assembly plant brick.
Yeah, my folks sent me that this year out here to the sandbox. Now I have to figure out how to get it home. Of course it was nice of them since they are taking care of my other yellow '75 convertible.
