Is a FLUX core wire weld, as strong/good as a mig wire weld of same material/size?

Flux will require more cleaning since it pops and spatters more, The gas shield is a cleaner weld. Thats about the extent of my wire welding knowledge at this point

Yes, but as others said, flux wire is dirty - lotsa spatters. Be SURE to gel your nozzle and groung clamp.

Flux core diggs into the material a bit better, so you get better penetration. If you are using a 110v machine, it's what you need for thicker material.

It's also better at cleaning away contaminants. If your in a situation where you can't clean the surface properly, flux core is a good choice.
