1979 Frame Cross-member Question

I looked at a late production '79 for a friend today. Was surprised to see the cross-member had two holes for the exhaust - ie, true duals. The exhaust on the car was like my '82, with a cross-over just before the tranny and then the split into duals but everything is down the passenger side until the y-pipe. I steered him clear of the car for other reasons but wonder if something was up with the frame/cross-member. Any ideas? Is this the normal set-up for a '79.

I have the exact same thing on my 79. Pretty sure it is correct.

That is the correct cross member for a 79--even though 79's did not have true dual exhaust. The cross member was not changed until the 1980 model.
