I'm thinking about buying an engine dolly to store my freshly rebuilt BB. Can anyone recommend a good quality dolly?
I would like to get one that would allow me to install the bell housing etc... so I can have the whole thing ready to go back in the car at a later date.
Actually a much later date since I'll be pulling the body to resto the frame in a few months.
I looked at the dolly that Summit sells. It would work but I would like to find one that does not mount on the vertical surface of the block so I can attache the bell housing, tranny etc...
I have seen a few listed on various sites that have rubber pads in which case the block sits on top of the dolly. Has anyone had any experience with one of those?
I built one . Well,I built a machanics crawler but converted it over. 1 piece of 3/4" plywood,4 casters from Lowes,it was done. Yes,its rather low buck, but moves fridges and funrniture too,,chuckle.
The dolly that "Jughead" posted pictures of is exactly what I had in mind. Thanks for the reply and the pics. I'm gonna check out thier site and get one.
By the way, that's an awesome looking engine and tranny!
