for a number of years,I lived 1 mile from the front gate,on the main hyw..(136 or crawfordsville rd). Traffic was backed up past my house.I talked with the rod drivers/spectators as they idled by, from my front porch. that was the good guys nationials,but twas the same for every single event(big ones) held there. Always a jillion cars,10 jillion fans and one beer store. Make lodgeing arangements WAY in advance. You can camp there if thats your bag. I now live 3 miles away and out of that traffic pattern
