Default Hooker side pipe install questions / issues

I'm finally getting around to installing these Hookers that have been staring at me for a year I got them used, so there were no mount brackets or bolts, and I'm having problems figuring out just how to get these attached. There are no holes in the frame that correspond with the brackets coming from the side pipes - nothing even close. I'm debating using self-tapping bolts to attach through a series of stainless and rubber washers straight into the side of the frame. I've also thought of making a bracket to attach to the frame and then bolt the pipes to that. Neither way seems to be the best. I can't seem to find any detailed instructons from Hooker listed anywhere, and would like to see how any of you have attached or fabbed up brackets to fit yours onto your car. Any help is appreciated!

There should be two slots in the side of the frame rail, one for each mounting bolt. I have the instructions for the Hooker side pipes and can email them to you. PM me your email address.

I sent you my EM - thank you. I've gone back out to stare at the pipes and the frame rail again, but there just isn't a hole where a hole should be... There are a couple slot holes, but they are off by several inches. When I get the instructions from you, I'll take another look. Maybe something will make sense. Thank you!

Well, for whatever reason, the holes on my pipes do not match the holes on my frame. I see the slots, but they are too far back and an inch too high to mount my pipes to. I went ahead and tapped two 3/8" holes in the frame, below and forward of the slots, then tapped the holes. I screwed bolts and washers in as I saw fit, then came from the back side (through the slots in the bottom of the frame) and installed a lock washer and nut. Seems to hold nice and tight. I'll post a pic afterwhile to show what I did. There just wasn't any way to force my way up into the holes that were there. Thanks for the input, guys!

OK, here's what I had to do - you can see how far off the slots are from the holes in the pipes. Just drilled forward and below where the slots were and bolted them in. Should work fine...

For what it's worth, before I sent mine to JetHot, I cut the front mounting tab from the sidetube. I see no need for it and sure makes r&r easier

You won't be saying that when the back bolt breaks. When I originally bought my car it had sidepipes that were mounted with only the back bolts. Guess what happened?

Do you think Hooker would spend the time to weld them on there if they didn't think they were needed?

I'll take my chances on a Grade 5 3/8" bolt doing its job to hold up the sidetube without failing. I can think of a lot of other things to worry about first

Drill the holes you need in the correct spot and use a bolt. I had to do this on the last set I installed. Plus, that's the only way to get that perfect fit.

Pay me - I like large, unmarked bills No clearance issues with anything at all - not the pipes or the mouldings. It all went in perfectly, both sides. Both mounts for both pipes have bolts and lock nuts installed from the rear, and torqued to 30 pounds. Let's see how long it holds. Thanks to everyone - I appreciate all the input.
