just read a little, looks like he's selling " the finished car" so you're bidding on a not yet finished car and have to wait for the completion? weird

Like buying a house before they tile, carpet, and paint. I like that. Make it yellow with tan leather, or black with red leather. I wonder what it will go for? I wish I was rich.

Default What's the Story - Long and Boring!

Well guys, that would be me. Aka 78Vette-SA

This was is/my personal car. Several years ago I turned a hobby into a business (See Sig - and www.vettetech.com). We have been doing restoration work on older Vettes and muscle cars and Hi-Performance work on later models. I liked aspects of both the old and new and decided to blend them together as others have. The FrankenSport project evolved from that.

During the process we've had all kinds of inquiries on actually building one for customers and potential customers and enjoyed this project so much we figured why not offer them as a turn-key package customized to a a customer's own preferences (and personalized service and customer involvement in the process). Unrelated to this last month we also decided to become a Forum Supporting Tuner to promote other aspects of our business and let forum members know that we existed. I've mostly been in the C5 Tech and Forced-Induction forums but also other forums occasionally.

There have not been any updates posted because we were closed over the holidays and I've been sick with Bronchitus and spent Christmas Day in the hospital but that's another boring story. Anyway, the car is going to the bodyshop this weekend for bodywork followed by paint. I'm already planning more of these with different variations and figured the eBay post was a good way to not only sell it but let people know that turnkey custom Vettes are now a reality.

So that's the real story and that's what's happening. To some degree it's like project management whereby we put together the desired package, reach out to various vendors and services, bring it all together into a turnkey package.

There is more info and details on the website. Thanks for the comments and I still hope to contribute here and will continue to post updates as we have them. It's partly because of all you guys/gals here providing help, support, incentive, and sharing the love of the Corvette that drove me to do this. I already have plans in the works for another one for ME!!! and I'll post some info on that when it's further along. As my website states, "We drive Corvettes"!

Thanks to all!

Oh man...i was hoping to see how that thing panned out and held up on the street. I don't like the idea of people being able to buy kick azz cars like that and never turn a single bolt or even own a socket set.
Even if I was rich I would still do as much work myself b/c its fun.

,but in order to make it in business you need to have that seperation. Someone will always come along and offer the right price and that is what he is doing here. Hopefully the E-Bay listing will pan out for you but I am doubtful. E-Bayers are almost always looking for a product for nothing, or close to it.
Have you considered finishing the Vette and listing it in Barrett Jackson? Great publicity and TV coverage. I'm certain that car would definitely get TV air time. There are numerous car collectors and dealers with lots of money at that show and your companies name would surely be heard.
Good Luck!

Good Luck!

We do have a number of different plans for both promotion and exposure as well as working with several of the vendors that we are sourcing parts from. Understand that we are small, want to grow but not too big or too fast, and want to provide something unique at a reasonable price.

For the price, the expsoure the eBay listing already received was more than worth it. We believe that there are those out there that would love something like this but for whatever reason do not have the capability or desire to build their own. We want to provide that ability.

Thanks
