Dropped in on a buddy the other day, and the first thing he said...you missed it too!!!! I looked at him in a puzzled way, and replied...missed what??? He proceeded to tell me, last week, advertized (in our local rag) was a 67BB with 32K miles @ 25K Two friends of his, swooped in on it as partners as neither had enough mula to swing the deal. They bought it, drove it to my friends house to show him and thumb their nose at him...lol. He said the Vette was in near perfect condition and was a true survivor!!!! From there, they took it to LA and flipped it for 210K!!!! Muddy
Muddy...you have money burning a hole in your pocket !!!
Rich
If I did...I just go buy a done 67BB and a Z!!! Probably wouldn't though as I like working on them, Hey Rich... I am looking for a correct car though...67BB, L71, L89 Vert. project. If you hear of one in your travels... I'd appreciate a knock Thanks! Muddy
427Sixpack: Wouldn't that have been something Now that would have really made me suicidial, lol. Seems these guys were not Vette guys and would not have known the difference.
The buddy I know above works for DHL and get's around the county up here. He's picked up a 72 Z28 with about 16K original miles. It's a survivor and looks like it just rolled off the assembly line. He also has a 54 Vette survivor with un believeable documentation. He has a 55 chevy in basically the same condition. Needless to say... DHL, UPS and Fed Ex drivers have some advantages

DHL, UPS, FED X DRIVERS ?............what else do they do ? rob all the banks along their route........GEEEEZ........must be an aweful lot of overtime !!
There are still some deals to be had out there. I have a buddy that spends his spare time looking for deals like the one you describe. He deals mostly in the high end market, Ferrari, Porsche etc... but picks up deals on muscle cars from time to time. One of his most recent, a well optioned 69 RS/SS BB 4-speed Camaro for $15,000. He stands to make an easy $15,000 - $20,000. He found my 72 Vette and it was a too good to be true deal.
His advice, don't hesitate. When you see the ad, go get the car.

Light brown, black & about 110Lbs
724544spd: I agree, there are deals out there...lots of people not clue'ie to the internet and have no idea what kind of value is in their garage Having said that... Imho, one does have to be fair though! Muddy

Interesting concept. They're driving through neighborhoods everyday and can stop to look at anything attempting to make a delivery to the wrong house. If they see a neglected diamond-in-the-rough, they can make a casual comment about having a friend who might be looking for a car like that...
Muddy's right. I used to work on the side for Fed Ex home delivery. My route was way out in the country around central VA. I was always coming across cars that you'd never see from the road. At the time I was into working on my 70 pickup. I could tell you where every truck of that body style was on that route.
