Look on the bright side

They say all bad things come in 3

And you have had your 3

Your friend Steve taking the car while you where away

The car wash

Then the shopping mall

So now fix her and enjoy many trouble free, fun filled years.

Big G, man I don't even know what to say? I feel like I'm whining about nothing in comparison. I'll post my pictures in a little while, fortunately mine was only paint damage, there's no holes in anything.
As far as the "bad things come in threes" comment, you're correct I've had three very emotional (to me) things happen already with this car. I hope the number doesn't keep rising.

Again, thanks for the comments and letting me vent my frustrations with you guys.

See not as bad as you thought. There's always someone else who has it worse.

Big G you've got something to complain about!

OK, here it is....

The chip in the door is small, but it's all the way through the paint and into the primer.

And here's the front end damage from the car-wash...

I realize it's a bitch when someone carelessly damages your stuff, but Jeez Louise! ... That damage is rather minor. The car's white ... the easiest to fix & match. What if you had war bonnet yellow? If you're gonna drive it, it's gonna get some damage over time.

On the first photo it looks like the color of the bumper doesn't match the body - pretty much normal for urethane bumpers, color often fades differently... it will look better than before when they painted the bumper.

Touch up paint and a toothpick is all you need to fix the door

I know it still hurts......but it sounded much worse then it is........especially as comapred to the other sad photos posted......!!!

Looks like just paint work, no body work & you should be fine !!

I'd never, ever let anyone else drive my car, & i'd be a scared to run that through a car wash myself, way to harsh for my princess !!

All will be just fine, just find a good paint guy with a good match
not to worry...........could have been much, much worse !!!
also if your paint is marginal on the hood & nose, tell the business responsible, that it wont match & you want the complete nose done, so you gain something for your troubles, Ya never know it might just work out your way !!

Best Of Luck to you !!

Things like that is why I wash mine my own self because I know how stupid alot of people can be and I never try to park in a lot where I leave it for to long for that kind of stuff to happen to it.

Hate to have that happen to a fella.

Worth posting...A Saturday morning, sunny. Doing 50 (speed limit). Clear, light traffic. In my peripheral vision, I see this A**hole pulls out of a school parking lot and tries to turn left in front of me. In less time than it takes to say sh*t, I look at opposing traffic (none), yank the wheel hard left. Almost made it. Instead of me t-boning him, he t-boned me. Caught me good enough to lift both right side tires off the ground at least a foot, spun maybe 360*, landed up against a fence. I was picking dirt and glass out of my clothes and hair for a while. Destroyed the righe side you see, in addition the right rocker (birdcage), trailing arm, wheel and tire. Maxed his prop. damage out at 25k, and I have kept a clear title. Currently beign rebuilt and repainted...by me, of course.

Thou hast broke 2 Vette commandments (maybe others)

Never wash your Vette with water of any kind.
Never let anyone else drive your Vette.

The gods were not kind to you for this series of transgressions.

BUT as far as the bumper, I think you are in decent shape here. They can repaint/blend that urethane bumper fairly easily. White should be easy versus any color that fades or metallics. Mostly cosmetic. You would have had a bigger problem had the damage gone into the glass of the nose. I am glad you are okay. In a couple of days you will be over the anger phase of this grief and you can focus on getting your ride fixed.

Now BigG on the other hand that is painful--it appears no frame damage. You might escape with a new door and a new quarter.
