Default Cant Decide....

I put my 1980 Corvette for sale at my local club`s website about a year and a half ago.I was having trouble with it and I had put so much $ into it already..I was frustrated and wanted to cut and run. Then I changed my mind..back and forth..

That was the only place I advertised it.Since then I fixed most of the problems even put new seats and carpet into it..Recently I havent thought about selling it The car brings me great enjoyment when its right..but I have had minute small problems that Im always fixing that need attention.

The car runs great and is modernized in many areas...problem is somebody recently saw my car on the webisite and they are really excited about buying it.They want to see it tommorrow night at my club meeting.

I know I should sell it because of high maintenence and attention that she needs..plus the $ would be helpful..

The problem is Im scared to sell it because it was my first Corvette..and Im very sentimental about it.I guess youd call it mixed emotions. Its like trading in your wife but worse.

I know I should..but Im worried that I`ll regret it very much.

Not asking anyone to decide for me..just interested if anyone else on here feels the same way about their Vette a love/hate kind of thing.

Gotta do what ya gotta do, but no doubt youll miss it when its gone, and even worse, you see it with someone else enjoying it while you cant if you sell it local

sure the old girl needs attention what 26 year old female doesnt, ( thats why I bought a male vette ), but in the end youll miss your first love, and while you may find another one like her later, it wont be the same *snif*

keep it sell it i dont care, im gonna go cry for my 67 RS/SS camaro now ........................................ .

j/k

Thanks Tim.

Yeah Im going to let them look at it and see how it plays out.The good thing is Im not desperate to sell it.It cant hurt.

If I was a mechanic I wouldnt mind working on it every once in awhile but Im not.One thing I can say is that my knowledge and mechanical ability has increased about 200% because of this old Corvette.Trial and error...mistakes but now I know her pretty well.

Your right its going to be hard to see someone else driving her.Especially if I sell it to someone in my Vette club.Kinda like when you dump a girl and the next time you see her she looks REAL GOOD...with somebody else.

Sounds like crazy talk but it part of the Vette life I guess..

Owning a classic sports car that's 20 to 30 years old is like owning a boat. One day your riding high the next its broke down and costing you a bundle. I know that love/hate feeling. Sold a 68 Firebird 400 Vert w/4sp about 9 years ago. Wish I had that car back. Hope this helps. Don't sell the vette, just fit whats wrong w/it and enjoy it another day.

Thanks Jim.
I honestly dont think I CAN sell her.The ironic thing is that Ive refreshed, fixed, and improved probably 75% of the car.Its that last 25% thats driving me nuts.
I never thought that someone waving thousands of dollars at me would scare the crap out of me.But it does. I have another Vette but I just dont have that connection with the C5.Its perfect but it aint the same.
I already promised a freind Id let them look at it..so I will.
