I'm looking for opinions. I've got a white 76 L-48 with a black interior. I'm fixing it up as a driver. It is all original. I'm replacing the seat covers, and I'm thinking of white or gray instead of black. The interior seems very unexciting with everything black. Any ideas??
Sounds like a good idea. You can buy repro white/greay seat covers that are basically factory duplicates.
I agree black interiors are very uninspiring. I know that black interiors are probably the most popular color choice. Of course, they are the most popular interior color probably because they don't show dirt. However, I don't like their gloomy appearance. My 1970 came with a black interior. Out with the black and in with an all red interior. Beautiful. My 68 has the bright metallic blue interior. Also, a really spectacular color.
Are you going driver to save money? If so, there are some vendors who sell driver quality seatcovers. If you are going original, the best quality seatcovers can be purchased from Al Knoch. There are others, but his are the best of the bunch.
