454 casting numbers

Default 454 casting numbers

I have found a 454 advertised locally and it is claimed to be from a corvette all they can give me is a casting numbers from the block. Can anyone tell me if it is from a Corvette or not. Numbers are 361959 and GMT12.

According to "Corvette by the Numbers, 1955-82, Alan Colvin" the only 454 blocks for the Corvette were 3963512 (1970-71) and 3999289 (1972-73-74)


the block you describe shows the following information from MorTec: http://www.mortec.com/bbc.htm
361959 .. 454 ... 73-90 ... 2 or 4 bolt
