Stone chips from front tires

Stone chips from front tires
Probably a dumb question but the previous owner put 255's all round on my 75, and I'm getting a few stone chips on the doors. Presume that this is because the tires are wider than the wheel arch?
Anyone else get this problem running 255's before I swap the fronts to 225?

225 60s all the way around on my 73 vert and I have the same problem. Currently my car is getting painted and I plan to get those clear paint protector "decals" and place them in the affected areas.
I havent considered smaller tires; they might do the trick as well.

Are you getting the chips on the door or the panel right behind the front door....I'm getting mine on that panel....

Mostly the door but I'll need to check again (it's under cover now).
(BTW isn't it 225/70 or 255/60, not 225/60? If the latter won;t it affetc your speedo reading?)
