Am I CRAZY?
I accidently posted this in the c3 For Sale section and meant to post it here in general. Sorry for the dupe!
Anyway, Am I crazy for wanting to sell or trade my 78 L82 4 speed Indy Pace Car #1660 for a 80 or 81?(maybe and 82, not sure about the crossfire)
My car needs a paint job and I have redone the entire suspension. I have always wanted a Pace Car, but really crave the later body style.
I think if I could sell it and I could possibly get a turn key late model C3?
LEt me know if I am a fool for even thinking about doing this!
See now you got me thinking MEGALADON!

Go with your gut, I think 78-79 and 80-82's are cool. I can't see how you could go wrong. That is one nice car, should find a nice 80-82 willing to trade?

It would be a wise decision. The front and rear spoilers of '80 are the shiznit. Werd.

80-82 were the hot cars when I was in High School. The Pace car is what made me fall in love with corvettes when I was 11 yrs old. So I am in a dilema. I have the car I swore I always wanted but really am jonesing for a 80-82!

Depends on what you want. . .
If you get the later style, you cannot get the L-82 4sp combo.
I think that 80 was the last L-82 and was Auto only.
that is one of the many reasons I wanted a '79.
If that isn't a factor, then the 80-82's are lighter. The front/rear look is a matter of opinion. I like them better than earlier models without the spoilers, but; your pace car has them as mine does. To me it's a wash on the looks.
personally, I'd just paint the PC.
