Default Winter Is Just Too %#@* Long

Here in Minnesota at least.
I took this pic October 1st on my last road trip of the year. That's right. Almost four months ago and we probably still have three months of winter left.

Now she just sit's in a cold garage.
I only put about 3K miles on the Vette last year but I vow to at least double that for 2007.

Hey, at least the days are getting longer. That feels good.
And according to AL Gore it will soon be summer all year long here in Minnesota.

Aside from parking the Vette he short days are the worst part about winter. Yes, enjoy your "unnecessary" vehicles why you can. You don't want to leave an excessive "carbon footprint".

I haven't heard much about global warming since the citrus crop in Califormia froze over

You put the Vette away for a few months and it makes it just that much more fun to drive to when you tale it back out again.

Every winter we hear how nice the weather is for driving in the southern states untill spring when their Vettes start to melt from the heat

That's about the only upside I can think of.

Al the freezing weather has at least stopped all the postings about global warming. Check out scotese.com. He has a graphic that shows the world's temperature over the last 300 million years. Actually, the current world's temperature is still on the cool side compared with many long term incidents in the past. No one, to my understanding, can explain these temperature variations in the world's temperatures. It's interesting that people claim that they know why the curent warming trend is ocurring. Fact: No one knows how much the infrared heat from the sun is changing. A change in the Sun's heat output (Infrared) would dramitically change the earth's temperatures. Also, it's well know that there are some stars that have a dramatic short term change in IR output. Betelgeuse (Alpha Centuri) is the most notorious big star that has a varying IR output.

I saw a show on discovery once that claimed global warming will ultimately cause another ice age.. after the polar icecaps put enough fresh water into the ocean, and screw up the oceans flow of water that ultimately dumps into the core of the earth and then releases back into the air to give us an atmosphere in the first place... or some such stuff

who knows

That's my normal routine but this year all my big projects are done. Guess it's time to find another one.

Yes agree with you seems this winter has been worse for us then others.I dont think our winter cold/snow is quite as long as yours but it seems long when your a sports car owner.Just bought my wife a new 350z she hasnt been able to drive in almost 2 months. Im taking the extra down time to work overtime/upgrade 2004r trans/sidepipes. Hope to be done by spring.
Nice car by the way hope mine looks as good buy end of spring.

Best Regards,Woodland

Took mine out yesterday for a short spin down to the hardware store. An older guy came running over and asked if he could look it over. I opened the hood and the door for him and let him sit in it. He was estatic and all smiles. We then went inside the store to do our chores and on parting he thanked me for making his day. While I was in the checkout line, I saw an older couple checking it out.

Made for a great little trip.

Over night we got 2" of snow on the ground.

I saw that documenary. The Mini-Ice Age. From the 1400's to the late 1800's. They think it was caused by large number of sunspots, which cooled down the sun. Average temp dropped 4 degrees. If the Earth has warmed 1 degree in the past 100 years, we still have 3 to go before we get back to normal.
