Default Finally new brakes!!!

After 27 years it was time to replace the stock brake system. Last fall I installed a new chrome master cylinder and power booster.
This week i install new slotted and drilled disc, braided steel hoses, rebuilt the calipers, replaced the parking brake shoes. I also painted the calipers silver to clean them up. All that is left is to clean up the wheel wells.

Great project, Bud! Can you give us more information like brands, prices, tools used, total time spent, problems incurred and problems solved. Where did you buy your parts? What gave you the most trouble?

Just used normal hand tools and a good et of drill bit to remove
rivots. Other than needing three hands to do the parking brake shoes it all pretty strait forward. Disc came from E Bay for $245 a set delivered, $95 for bendix pads, $20 for caliper paint,$50 for parking brake shoes, $65 for stainless hoses,$100 for wheel bearings, races and seals. and $80 for caliper seal kit.
All time involved was about 12 hours Iwould guess. Hope to have the new rims on next week for a test drive.
