Default '72 Tail Light Modification

Thank you forum for the info detailing the modification of C3 tailights. I purchased two pigtails and two new brake/turn signal bulbs and completed the project in about two hours. I now have four brake lights across the rear and two turn signal lamps per side. It looks good.

Thanks again,
JimT

Good question. I was thinking you could use one of the licence plate lights as a backup light. Maybe chg the socket & blub to one of the 50w ones. J.C.Witney's sell's a aux backup light you can mount under the car or bumper for $12.00 & its 50Watts also.

Default Tail Light Modification

I purchased two small fog lights (appx 2" long and 1" tall) and mounted them under the rear bumper. On my '72, there are two pre drilled mounting holes under each side of the rear bumpers (centered between the tail lights), and the fog light mounting fit perfectly. I used fog lamps because they are less wattage than driving lights. It does look good. I'll try to get a pic.
