O/T Cooling system
This is off topic, but I know you guys know a lot about cars. 1999 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl A/T A/C. Around town temp gauge is normal (middle of gauge). On highway, temp slowly drops to cold after a few miles. Heater output drops off, indicating to me the gauge is accurate. I replaced the OEM 180 degree t-stat with a 195 with little improvment.
Anyone have any ideas? I'm stumped.
Thanks,
Tom

P.S. Also you could switch it out to 70/30 antifreeze/water, that will raise the temps a bit.
P.P.S. My 85 Mazda 626 would never get up to temperature when it was really cold out, I think the problem is there just isn't enough engine there to keep it warm..

Thanks for the replys. 76 custompaint, I had a 1984 Mazda 626. Man I loved that car! It was burgundy with a power sunroof and that cool dash vent that moved back and forth. Thinking back, you are right, the heater wasn't very good. Lon Wayne, that's a good idea. I'll block off part of the radiator and see if I can get the temp up.
Thanks again,
Tom
