1978 SA.....friend wanted to leave his laptop in vette,so I turned on ignition, closed power windows, and got out leaving keys in ignition, shuting door..(manual locks)..
Called wife to bring spare keys and door key would not work...so called AAA,and guy was there in 15 minutes, but not a locksmith...he could not get vette open, so I suggested a way to release T-top and it worked so easy, thought I'd mention it here...
I had to bend one of his "tools" to make it work...
PM me me if you are interested in details...very simple...did not want to describe this in the "open forum".....

i have done this with my 68 ( ignition on dash), I ended up using a hanger to reach through the wheel and grab the keys and pull through weather stripping
after doing it 3 times (and getting quite good at it) finaly had spare made and keep it in wallet. still leave key in from time to time but now im good
If the T-tops are not adjusted real tight you can press down on the top and thump it with your fist and the locks will drop out. I've done this a few times. (Be careful with glass tops-- they can shatter)
How about a coat hanger? Those old latches were easy. Tak a coat hanger, bend a hook in th end and work it down to the latch. Get it hooked around and tug towards the front. We use to be able to get in in about a minute in that era.
