Any advice before I go purchase a headlight switch? I want to make sure I exhaused all other possibilities before spending the money. I've looked through other threads, and here's what i've verified.
- Headlights work fine
- blinker lights work
- brake lights/backup lights work
- I tried turning the **** on the switch to verify its not a bonehead mistake
- Replaced fuse in fuse box
Thanks, and any other misc things to replace while I have this apart?
Sounds like you covered it. I'd buy a box of whatever bulbs the panel lights use. While you have the dash out, replace the bulbs you can reach. Beats having to open the dash again.
BTW: Did the interior light come on when you cranked the panel dimmer?
Do any of the dash lights work? A/C heater illumination, transmission indicator? If not, check the inst. panel ground which is located on the left hinge pillar. Check for power at the fuse (check both sides). If there is no power, then the light switch is kaput. If there is, gotta be a bad ground or main power feed wire (on my 78', it's green from switch to fuse block and grey from fuse block to gage clusters).
