just cut out the gill slits and put the egg crate grills in the fenders and call it...say..maybe... a 71??? or a 72....how many poeple can actually say they own the ONLY SURVIVING FIBERGLASS PRODUCTION CAR IN THE WORLD???
CAN I SCREAM THAT ANY LOUDER??
just something about owning a vette, even a project car should have the crossed flags proudly mounted on the nose at all times!!

just my .02...
I'm thinking of taking all my badges of and galssing in the holes.
'68 was a great year for Vettes- have own mine since new and it has given me very good service and lots of fun over the years. The quirks with the '68 ( a few one year only parts) are what make it interesting.
I strongly disagree with you and have had my 68 since 1972 and will still have it when I die. Mine doesn't suck.
My son can't wait to get it.
Sorry you don't like 68's; sell it or give it to someone who does.

So who do you think gets more grief. The '68 owner because it's a '68? Or the '76 owner because of the Vega steering wheel? Sucks how things can dog ya forever.......

This is the first and only post by the guy that started this thread. After posting he abandoned the thread. Obviously posted to inflame and not really looking for advice. Too bad this has to happen on an otherwise excellent forum.
Yeah 68 sucks.. Do you want to trade for a 78 that does not suck?
Just joking.. 68's are milestone cars and are very valuable, after all the resale value is not the only thing that you should look for.

But first I have to get it stripped down to the frame. I have all the interior out, engine, clutch and so on but i cant seem to break any of the body mounts loose. and tricks or suggestions. Another thing. The last owner put these ugly wide flares on the rear end and decided to get rid of the headlights ( he plated over the holes and bonded them shut. I can see the outline of where they used to be, but it looks like the headlight covers recessed in the body and rested on a ridge that surrounded the whole cut out, can anyone tell me if i am correct or not.
