Any good step by step illustrations or instructions to remove the front clip? I have some surface rust and minor separation of the inner outer fender panels that are inaccessible with the clip on. I'm tearin' myself up over whether to remove the clip or not. I have some minor surface rust on the birdcage lower corners near the fenders and am not sure how far below it goes
I use a putty knice and small hammer to tap it. Work slowly and carefully. The dull blade will normally follw the fiberglass and bonding seam, but occasionally, it will turn and rip through the fiberglass.
At that point, you need to get a new starting point, and go again. Once started in the new point, turn around and work back to connect with the original cut.
I bought an 82, where the front clip was already removed and a completely new clip is sitting on the car. I will definitely need help in getting it bonded to the inner fenders and cowl.
I need to check the frame and adjust the radiator support/hood hinges, because the hood does not fit at all. I don't want to start puting the car together if the frame is not straight. First things first.

The AIM will be extremely helpful for illustration purposes, but won't provide a How-To. Any of the Corvette fiberglass books (Eckler's, Glas-Ra, etc) have the how-tos on doghouse removal and installation. My advice would be to buy one or both and read them before getting too far into the project.
