I was wondering how the outside stainless trim around the wind shield comes off. I would like to take my windshield out and dont want to damage the trim. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

There is a special tool that slided under the trim to release the clips that hold it on.
I don't have a picture but you can find it in a Mid America catalog I think.

Be carefull! I took the winshield trim off mine last week to polish it up. I bent a 90 from a thin flat piece of metal to hook the top trim underneath and pulled up, but be carefull not to pull to hard so it will not jerk up and bend the trim. The side molding trim has 4 screws that are imbedded in the wheather stripping that hold them. The top corner pieces have two screws facing forward that are holding them, sometimes it is hard to see them because you may have strip caulking over them.
Be careful installing the trim; when I tried to snap the top trim back in place I pushed to hard and cracked my windshield It cost me $250
I am not sure the tool that Durango mentioned but it might be worth investigating.
My advice is to get the AIM for your year. It shows how the trim was installed at St. Louis, where the clips are supposed to be, how many of them you should find, etc. If there are any specific notes for installation of the trim, those will also be in the AIM.
Might take a couple or three days to arrive in the mail, but it beats the heck out of bending up a piece of stainless trim.
Ditto for windshield installation. The AIM shows you exactly how to do it, including spacer location.

Anyone ever order those repro trim parts? with all the trouble we seem to be having with the fitment of interior trim...I wonder how easy it is to find correct fitting windshield trip.
