When I turn the fan to high, the rear window defogger kicks on and the fan speed goes to stop. The defogger was disconnected because it ws drawing too much current.

Reason: I'm new at this....
Here is an FYI...for all. I spent some time reading schematics of the temp control systems. Well, the Readers Digest condensed version...I reconnected the defogger and the fan now works as designed. Hi speed is now working, unless I turn on the defogger. By design the defogger will cut out the high speed blower.
I think I might have the same problem. My last level of the fan will not go on and from what I can tell my defogger does not work. Does this sound like your issue?
On mine the defogger light would come on when I selected hi on the fan, and the fan would stop. One of the tests I did, was to put the fan on high, and turn off the defogger. I heard a clicking coming from behind the dash near the steering wheel. In case you don't know, the defogger connection for min was behind the drivers seat, in front of the rear wheel, just under the rear window. Pull back the carpet and look for purple wires.
