First off, welcome to chicago, only 2 more months till spring! I work in the city and I'm not looking forward to the sub-zero temperatures coming up real soon.

I can't even believe how many threads there have been over how to jack up a corvette on here. many people will even say you should pop the hood, unlatch the t-tops, and keep the doors closed at all times while on jacks, but as long as your frame is solid and in good shape it really doesn't matter. I jack mine up 1 corner at a time and have left it with only the front or only the rear on stands for weeks and the doors still open and close smooth as ever.

For your bumper question, the 73/74 bumper is straight across the top edge and the 75-78? bumper extends back in between the headlights a little. that and the bumperettes you mentioned are the 2 things I notice most. Hope that makes sense, but if not here's what the 73 looks like.

Thanks eddie. This was the exact concern I had. Looks like ill be able to save some money on the stands, thanks. Ill go with the 3 ton I think they span from 12 to 19 or 20 inches. Im a skinny guy so hopefully I can get enough room to manuver.

chris: Thanks for the pic. At this point I could care less what the front end is. I guess the only reason I care at all is so I know what to list the front clip as when I sell it and get a 70.

Now the weather needs to improve so i can get under the car without losing a toe or finger.
