While convalescing a while back, I had time to create an Index for my 78’ AIM and 71' AIM. It has been very useful in finding what you want in the 550+ pages. It seems appropriate to share this with anyone who has a 78’ or 71' AIM. If you want it, send me a PM with your email address. It is an Excel file so you can change/sort any way you want.
Looks like this and is 10 pages long.

That's awesome. Can it be converted to a different year easily? I have a '77 and I have my AIM but it's a pain to use because it's been copied too many times.

I don't think so, but it may be a good starting point and change it as required for your year.

I scanned my entire AIM to one pdf. It's 44mb in size and has 626 pages. But I used the function to recognize text so I can search the entire document for words. It rocks.

Holy crap that must have tane a long time. Are your drawings still in good shape? I can barely make mine out.

The copiers at work are scanners also. At lunch I'd go scan 100 pages at a time. They scan directly to a multipage pdf on the server. I did all 626 pages in two days. Then I had to rotate the images to all the same orientation and combine it all into one pdf. Between scanning and manipulating the images it took me a grand total of about 45 minutes.

I'm a CAD tech working on the electrical side of power plants. We use software to allow us to use scanned images of old engineering drawings rather than redraw them, we just draw on top of them and erase what we don't want.
I scanned the whole car schematic I purchased and have spent some time redrawing it. I only have a couple systems complete. It's pretty sweet. I have a layer for each wire color named for each system. So, I can isolate the purple wire in the a/c system. I have a long way to go on that one. I lost interest in it a while back. I only really seem to put time in on that one when I'm having an electrical problem.
