I've already made a body dolly, but I'd like to make a more permanent quality one out of metal. After searching through the forums, I found this picture...which I believe is your corvette. I'll be fabbing one up in the next couple of days and I want to go with your design...could you possibly send me some close up pictures with measurements? I would really appreciate it.
OK, here are a couple of dimensioned pics of the dolly. Save a copy to your PC, open with viewer and zoom in to read the small text tags. If you need more info and measurements I can get them but I have the dolly loaned out so I will have to make arrangements to go measure it.
BTW, use big casters, they roll a lot easier. You don't have to ues all the bolt together companion flanges, that actually adds a lot of work but it makes it a lot easier to store if you can break it down. I would also paint it first thing if time allows. I had one borrowed and that didn't pan out. It left me with 48 hrs to get a dolly built and the car to the body shop.
Yeah, I built it myself in one evening, I didn't have much choice. I have access to an industrial sheet metal shop with all the cutting, drilling, and welding equipment set up and ready to go so that helps.
The measurements on the drawing are correct. I measured them for CRAZY81 a couple of months ago.
