Hey!
Has anyone seen a well thought out custom dash in a C-3? I am looking for some ideas on a tastefully put together dash and gauge set-up other than stock, but have not seen one in any posts.

I think the factory set up is tasteful...and posts about aftermarket guages in vettes are quite plentiful. But i agree there are very few if any posts about completely redesigned dashes...if that is indeed what you are looking for.
If you are just looking for custom gauge stuff plenty of posts to be had...
I don't have any pictures available yet but my son has constructed a custom dash and center console for his '73. He constructed a plywood and cardboard mold and layed fiberglass over it. He then removed the mold and is now left with a fiberglass dashboard. He used an outer guage cluster shell from a 2000 Grand Prix to get the arch he wanted to achieve for the spedo and tach.
The whole thing is equipped with Autometer guages and LED warning lamps and turn signal lamps. He still has to cover it in leather and install which we will be doing in the next week or so.
The center console contains the heat control and moved to where the parking brake used to be. It also contains electronic drink heat/coolers and the power window switches.
He made this to replace the original interior which was completely shot. We also have installed C5 power seats and C5 seat belts this week end.
They don't seem to have the 160 Mph gauge for '77 - '82.
That's why I mentioned this part in the previous post.
Someone here sent them their gauges to do the first set I believe, and were very happy with the results
If someone was willing to send them a set of gauges, they would be more than happy to make the first set from them, install and only charge for the template set.
That is the post I was referring to was all about.
Replaced my cluster gauges with Autolite Phantoms, and han my speedo and tach done to match at place noted above...Perfect match and they will put the redline wherever you want! $100.00
Oops bad linky... http://www.corvetteinstruments.com/
Thats better!!!

You are right Ganey, but can I order them seperately and are they the same size... I just went ahead and asked them, I'd glady send them my gauges if I weren't on the other side of the pond and be without gauges for months (not to mention shipping costs).
I'll post their reply, ofcourse. Think I'll go for those leds too

I contacted them a while ago and they said they didn't have the center cluster for an 82. They did say that I could send mine in and have them done that way, but being in Saudi Arabia, it would cost me a fortune for the shipping.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the only difference between my 82 cluster and earlier Vettes is that I have an OIL TEMP gauge instead of a clock? If that's the case, Ill contact them and see if I can just send them an oil temp gauge for them to make the first one...
There is one member from Australia that posts here occasionally that has a bright yellow C3 with extremely nice yellow gauges. I will look for his name so you can chase down his thread with pics of the car.
I must have deleted his PM he sent me, Maybe somebody else knows who I am talking about.
