I have a '70 BB vert. It has "astro vent" of course but I would like to install A/C. Does anyone know of any aftermarket A/C systems? If you have one how has it worked for you?

There is a bolt on system that a lot of hotrodders use, but for the life of me, i can't remember the name. If you use the search function, you should be able to find it.

I think it was Vintage Air on my old '67. I don't believe they make it for a '70. I think somebody mentioned Classic Air once but I'm not sure. Anyone heard of them? I'd like to find a hardtop for the convert also if anyone hears please have them PM. Thanks. It's so humid here you turn into a sweatball in 15 min between june & sept.

The suppliers that I know of are Vintage Air, Hot Rod Air and Classic Auto Air.

I have installed a Classic Auto Air kit in my '69 coupe.

I was thinking about Classic Auto Air. How do you find it? Good or Bad?

I can't really say yet, as the car is still in the garage waiting for spring.

As far as the install went, it wasn't too bad. I would assume that they are all somewhat similar.

I went with hot rod air, most systems use your stock controls

One of my friends has the hot rod air set up. IT is still in the box.
It is everything except the under hood stuff. He was going to use all custom compressor and special lines etc. He has sold the car.
He wants to sell the kit for $ 700.
If you are interested, let me know and I can hook you up with him.
I have the same exact set up, but I too, have yet to install it.
It is a pretty neat setup, all under the dash, heat, defrost, and a/c.

Default A/c

Thanks for all the input. I will call all 3 for a catalog. The 700$ deal sounds good but since I don't know much about A/C it's probably better for me to buy from a dealer so I get tech support.

The compressor, condensor, and hoses are also a bit expensive.

I installed the Hot Rod air system in my '69. I think I paid around $1100 complete. The install is pretty straight forward but the instruction manual leaves a lot to be desired. I left all of my original controls alone and will be using the on/off controls on their unit. I wanted to leave my car as stock as possible. I will get some pics later of the install and post them.

From your pic it doesn't look like you need AC
