I think I promised you stainless spreader bar brackets somewhere along the way didnt I???

But yes, I have the ability to weld aluminum, though have yet to give it a shot. My stainless exhaust system has been my priority lately... Its coming along very nicely.

I hear aluminum is very difficult... One of these days I'll give it a shot.

Very true.... I'm checking out a 1986 F-350 dually this weekend as a donor. I need the whole rear assembly, front end, brakes, and steering. The trucks got a 460 with about 20k on it, and a 4 spd. Although if I pick it up, I'll be unloading the engine to support the purchase of my Detroit 453 and Allison auto tranny. He's asking $650 for the truck... no bed and its in "rough" shape - exactly what I'm looking for.

Speaking of which, you mentioned you have many junk yards near you... any chance in digging up a windshield frame for a '37 ford pickup?

Default uncle sam was good to me

I got a fairly large return and I don't have a significant other to give me permission , just my kids which get some money for themselves.. so I am going for broke.. made plans with the bodyshop to have mine painted, bumpers are being re-chromed, ordering misc items I need.. then if there is anything left, put it away for another future project, I already have my eye on a '73 that this guy may let go of soon.

This thread got to thinking what I could do with the 1,900. I have to pay. I guess I didn't want to buy things for my car. I just love paying taxes. I don't know whats worse. The 1,900 in taxes or the 850 every month in child support. If they call it support why do they not allow you to claim them? One of those things that make you say HUMMMMM.

This thread got me laughing because back when I was married to my childrens mother and was gainfully employed, when tax refund time came around it was first getting the Vette painted, the year after was a complete interior re-do, the following year was supposed to be "her" year untill she was out driving the Vette and the rear spindle bearing decided to take a break,,,literally. She donated her refund to getting it fixed, the funny part was that previous to the spindle episode she remaked that at least this year that "White cash hole in our budget" wouldnt be getting any of our tax refund, hah,,, she shoulda kept her mouth quiet. Peace,,,Moosie
