I haven't weighed, but simple driving tells me my 73 Vettes are at least 10-15% heavier than my 69 Camaros. The biggest difference has the be the full frame/birdcage vs. the unibody. Secondary factors are the IRS, front bumper on my 73, 4 wheel discs brakes (vs. front disc, drum rear on the Camaros) and doors.
You'd think a two-seater fiber-glass car would weigh less.
But the Vettes win the weight distribution contest, hands down!...this is 'somewhat' important as well.

True its a cast Iron block, 350 or up, but its got a fyberglass body, a 68 chevel will weigh bous 3800 but thats a steel body, shouldent vettes b sugnificantly lighter my 74 weighs 3300

get rid of that spare tire and carrier. then put aluminum heads and hooker side pipes also a non stock hood will save about 40 pounds too. . then pick up a small electric tire pump and patch kit
i kept the jack , i don't know why? store all of that in the doors of the floor behind your seat more than enough room also have the jumper cables and hand tools just in case . 72 vert still weighs just under 3150. if your going to drag it behind a trailer don't worry about the weight

The fiberglass isn't that light at all. I could weight the front and rear clip completely, the weight would be a tad too little as I cut off some pieces in the back and don't have inner fenders on my front clip. The rear glass (bubble glass) is very heavy as is the windshield.
The floor is pretty heavy too, the birdcage itself dunno...I can weigh that also. All these pieces however are easily carried by 2 people. probably also by 1 person but too large and cumbersome to handle

oh u dont need to weigh it i was just wondering i thought fiberglass was a FAIRLY lighter material, but i was wrong if you are planning to weigh it already go on a post it but dont go out of your way,
My white '71 LS6 coupe in absolutely stock condition, weighed at scales and certified the weight. Came in at 3340lbs, with no fuel in tank, well virtually no fuel (was running on fumes, practically) and no one in car.
ok cool! post it when u get the chance, at least with it being so heavy i dont hav to worry bout any one litterally picking up my car and taking it, its been known to happen...here
[QUOTE=Twin_Turbo;1558885231]..... The raer glass (bubble glass) is very heavy as is the windshield.
today i took off the windshield to replace it with a lexan one, well..actually i thought the oem one was much heavier then it actually is...it's about 18/20 lbs (against the lexan that is not more then 6/7 lbs)...
I have heard that 40 pounds off your car is like adding 1-2 hp.?
it's not only a power to weight iussue...a lighter car brakes and turns on bends better then a heavier one...so not only it's faster but it's also more driveable
