Default Deciphering Numbers
Say I need a specific bolt. I have the part number for the bolt (which I retrieved from the assembly manual), but is there a way of finding out what the specifications of the bolt are (ie length, pitch, threads per inch etc.)? Is there a coding system for the hardware on Corvettes? Are there any decoders on the internet which decode the part number and tell you what type of bolt it is?

A company called AMK Products sell nuts and blots for old cars. Their catalog lists the GM part number and what the size etc. is. The catalog is well worth the price.
