There's a car show about 25 miles from home today(and yesterday). I told the wife: Let's take the Vette! Well, what would you do?
1) It's only going to be about 35-40 degrees today, but sunny.
2) Snow is in the forecast for Tuesday, lots of it!
3) There's no snow now, but minor residual salt left on the roads from a dusting we had early last week.
4) It could be weeks before I get another chance to take her out(the wife and the car for that matter!).
Sounds like you want to go......I would too but not with salt on the roads. As much as I'd like to take mine out for a run I have a rule. The vette goes under cover when the first salt is put down and does not come out untill the spring rains wash it away.
I'd go...I want to go but its like an hour and 40 minute drive and I was out in Salisbury on friday for tattoo work and to be frank I just don't feel like driving out there again.
I was talking to a guy who is selling a Lincoln and is putting it in the parking lot at the convention center where the show is and I wanted to ceck it out...if you see a 90 or so LSC Lincoln, blue, in the parking lot let me know what it looks like.
Should you worry about salt if the roads are totally dry?
Good question about the salt!
Winter sucks! We'll probably go in the regular car....dammit!
Really, the salt is minimal....
Seriously though schmegeggie, IF you do go and IF by chance you see a 90 Lincoln thats for sale in the lot tell me what it looks like, if you don't mind?

As long as the roads are dry that white/salt really doesn't stick to the frame. I had my 65 out yesterday and the 68 the day before. I just dust them off when I get home. I've had my 65 for 35 years and have always driven it in the winter when the roads are dry. My frame still looks great.
Life is no dress rehearsal. Drive it and enjoy it. After Tuesday it may be a while before you can drive it.
