Default question on side pipes

can 79s have side pipes or is it only for the earlier years?

Emissions laws are about the only concern you might have to deal with.
My Corvette is a '78. I bought the fiberglass covers, but I made my own pipes for about $70.00.

79's didn't come with them but there are numerous supplies who make them for a conversion. i think 68 or 69 was the last year you could get them from the factory.

'69 was the ONLY year that had factory installed side pipes. Other years had them as dealer installed items. You can get aftermarket ones for almost any Vette.

This certainly applies to 74 and older, however from 75 on you need to deal with the CAT. If your local laws permit..then you're fine...Otherwise you're SOL

'69 was the only C3 with factory installed sidepipes.

But, they were a factory option (N11) on all C2s from the factory.
