'80 stock steering wheel question

Many years ago I bought a replacement steering wheel for my '80 and traded-in the original. The leather was old on the original so thought the replacement would be the exact same fit as the original, just with newer leather. Unfortunately the replacement doesn't come out as far as the original so my knees hit (I'm over six feet) and it's harder to drive. I don't drive the car much so it's not a huge problem, but would still like to replace it back.

Do any vendors sell an original steering wheel? Preferably with new leather.....

All of them. Take your pick. ZIP, Eckler's, Corvette Central, Mid-America. Check all of them and look for the best price. These things are getting in the $200 range.
