Default anyone else had trouble w/ Fastcorvette.com?

I just discovered that one of my calipers that I got from them is leaking, and it has been less than a year. Also, I had trouble with the PS valve and tie rod adjusting sleeves I got from them.

I had several problems with them.Differentials that overheated that i paid over a grand for and took a year for them to fix and then it leaked. sent it back again to fix leak and came back with wrong companion flange . sent it back again and it leaked worse . I had to threaten them with a call to the state attorney's office to get my core refunds. the list goes on. i finally got so frustrated with them not answering phone calls or e-mails and hanging up on me that i gave up on the rearend. several other members in the forum had problems with them.good luck!

I've posted this before. I bought 4 calipers from fastcorvette, waited 4 months for them to arrive. They blamed the delay on me asking them to paint the calipers red instead of black!

After I had been waiting for 2 and a half months for my calipers and brake line kit from fastcorvette, I had sent several e-mails asking what was going on. After over a week, I finally got a reply which was:

I apologize for the delay in emailing you.
The guys are painting your calipers today and they should ship tomorrow.
I will email you when they do along with your UPS tracking number.
Have a great day!
I'm waiting for items I paid for months before and they're off playing race car driver!!! When they did arrive, they'd forgotten to include the brake pads I also ordered!

I ended up threatening to contact PayPal and file a complaint and to post a message in here about them.

I only went with them originally as their price was reasonable without me needing to send my cores, which would cost a mint from Saudi Arabia. If I ever need to buy calipers again, I wouldn't even contemplate fastcorvette!! I wouldn't give them the steam off my $hit

Do a search, I don't want to ruin my day by elaborating on my experience again.

I've never had a problem with their parts but their core program sucks. Waited 3 months for money back for my caliper cores and when I finally got some money from them they stated that 3 of the 4 I sent them were not rebuildable. Big pain and I also think I got ripped on the core thing!!!

I believe FastCorvette himself or his son or their master rebuilder lurks daily at the C-2 site under the name lightweight 001

I've had nothing but good dealings with them, they even called once to verify some aspects of my order. Delivery has always been prompt.

I had a post on them before. The parts came in promptly and in good shape, but trying to get the core charge from them was like pulling teeth. It took over 6 mo. and more then a dozen phone calls.

Good Luck

"You get what you pay for" Sometimes you don't get what you pay for or what you paid double for!

Word to the wise on using rebuilding services or parts service- if you go for price every time you'll get cheap but maybe not the cheap you expect.

Wise words. Cheap is not cost effective. If you have to replace it often, just how cheap is it?

Go down and buy a kit from your local auto parts store and fix it yourself. Otherwise try and fight with a out state supplier for weeks and possibly months. Write this down as a educational experience and start dealing with your locals, they would be happy to have you as a customer and dealing on a personal basis. Not long distance!

Good advice IF you have good local suppliers. A lot of places/areas do not. A lot of very good parts guys and mechanics are dumbfounded when asked a specific question on an C2 or C3. "Yeah, I had a original 396 '69 vette!" as told to my son by a local expert last week.

Using a mail order service, supplier, rebuilder is ok as long as they are known. In this particular case that company is known but judging by the responses it is not a positive reference.

If you were party to some of the calls and emails I have received lately on services by some places you may be surprised, then again maybe not.

Here's the link to the last thread on this company. I keep a file on "good" and "not so good" Companies, they were in the not so good.

Very close and We do have a auto parts and was one of the best in the Detroit area and my favorite sign in the store is quote, " Junk is cheap, Quality never is". And I would always tell a customer that we use what we sell if ever asked a rare question of how good are the products we sold. All of the product lines were top of the line and in stock whatever the car or year and that naturally included Vettes. Yet as big as the inventory was, unfortunately sometimes we would have to special order some parts. But being a WD the specials were seldom over a day away. What I dont understand is the fact that so many here on this and other forums are so patient with these Vette vendors by waiting weeks and sometimes months for parts. I dont know how you do it. And the worse situation is after all that time the part could be wrong.

Spring of '05-Ordered complete brake package- arrived promptly-all good quality stuff.
Sent in cores of calipers, steering valve and cylinder, and power steering pump.-- 6 months later received a check for 35 bucks! Went to cash it-- insufficient funds. Kept it as a reminder to do business with referred suppliers.

What's your business big_G? If you're a funeral director, I would probably choose cheap! Seriously though, good way to put it.

I dunno about other vendors, but I've had nothing but excellent service from tracdogg2. If (or should I say WHEN) any of the calipers I got from fastcorvette leak/seize/explode then I'll be hitting Mike (tracdogg2) up for newies....
